Journey Through Drafting
Fresh into Drafting
My early days of Drafting summed up in one word: discovery. These are some of my early drawing, sections of landscapes and structures. It must be said these are not my designs, but drafts of a design that I was assigned. Hand Drawings Hand drawings are becoming an anomaly in architecture. More and more architects/drafters go straight into the computer and do not even bother with drawings. There are many advantages with drawings. Although it may take some time, you become more familiar with your project. It is a thing that I will always focus on completing during a project. |
The Hopper WindowAfter learning about different types of windows my first year in the Drafting Academy, I was assigned a project to illustrate the different views of a window of my choice. I decided to choose the hopper window for my project. I choose it because of the simplicity and versatility of the window.
What is a hopper window? A hopper window is a swinging window that is hinged at the bottom and opens inward. Typically used in public establishments such as schools, libraries, etc. |
AutoCAD
Drafting 2 was my introduction to AutoCAD. It was hard to get used to at first, but I soon realized it was essential to know. AutoCAD makes Drafting much more convenient and easy.
